Objective : To understand what a food pyramid is.

Outcome : To learn the energy flow from organisms in food pyramids.

Pyramid of number tells how many organisms are there in each level.

Corn –>  Human    =     More energy transferred

Corn –>  Pig –>  Human   =     Less energy transferred


How rabbit loses energy :

Answer 2a :  Equator is an imaginary line that splits the world into two equal halves.

Answer 2b : The Equator split the world into two halves :

A.  Latitudes are imaginary lines that run horizontally around the world, parallel to the equator.

Longitudes are imaginary lines that run vertically around the world, parallel to the equator.

What is meant by development ?

A.  The word development is hard to define in one world. It is all about improvement in people’s quality of life. This may include helping people in terms of food and quality or by simply making themselves self-dependent.

What is absolute poverty ?

A. This means people cannot afford enough food, shelter and medicine.

How can development be measured ?

A.  Answer is on page # 18 , the second last paragraph. Whole of it.

Explain MEDCs and LEDCs.

A.  MEDC = More economically developed countries

LEDC = Less economically developed countries
